Santa Paws came to BARC

Despite our fears for rain we had a lovely sunny day at our Christmas Fayre.

James from Buddy's Mobile Dog Wash came along and provided his
wonderful dog washing service. Nanuke pictured here was treated to a bath by his
owners...what a gorgeous dog!

It was also really lovely to see some ex-BARC residents...Patch
and Willow who were rehomed in November 2008 came along with their owners to
enjoy the day. Anita is also a regular volunteer for us as well as looking after
her dogs.
Also pictured here is Storm looking very festive next to the
Poinsettias! Storm is being cared for in a wonderful foster home with Amanda
March and her dog Tilly. She is looking really well and some great news is that
a family are very interested in adopting her.
Fingers crossed for Storm...we love a happy ending!

Welcome to the BARC Blog!!!

Our First post!!! Laura Lockwood; who works in the rehoming office has just been to the Dogs Trust International Training Programme in London. The Dogs Trust (previously the NCDL) are a fantastic animal welfare charity; they were able to share lots of information and knowledge of how best to run an animal rehoming centre. We hope we can use lots of their ideas to improve BARC and the animals in our care.
